unit 1 activity 4 Assessment

Assessment, evaluation, testing and teaching are concepts which are closely linked in classroom situations.

Assessment is an ongoing process whereby the teacher gathers information about the students’ learning and understanding through observing their performance, thus the teacher is going to realize what areas need more attention and what can do about it.

Evaluation is interpreting the information gathered for the purpose of making decisions about the students learning and needs, and what both teacher and students are going to do to solve it.

Testing is an assessment tool that we can use to measure the student performance which is going to be turn into numbers to give a grade.

Teaching is a process of helping to get knowledge and it’s linked to testing, (these tests may take form of oral questioning or paper and pencil tests) so the teachers reflect on their teaching and make a diagnosis of how much the students know or have learned.
